Cycling Bernloch
Aretha Louise Franklin (March 25, 1942 – August 16, 2018) was an American singer, songwriter and pianist. Honored as the "Queen of Soul", she was twice named by Rolling Stone magazine as the greatest singer of all time.

Winter is in full swing now, and the village of Bernloch is slowing down. The town of Bernloch is part of Hohenstein. Hohenstein is a municipality consisting of five districts on the high plateau of the Swabian Alb in the Reutlingen district, about 20 kilometers south of Reutlingen. Founded from the villages of Bernloch, Eglingen, Meidelstetten, Oberstetten, and Ödenwaldstetten, which were independent until the 1975 municipal reform, the municipality is named after the former Hohenstein Castle.
As a year-round cyclist, I do a lot more walking, which helps my overall physical and mental health. The reason for this is the snow. Snowfall in the Swabian Alps is a certainty. The only questions are how much and when. The funny thing about cycling during the Winter months is that it isn`t the snow but the ice that causes concerns. Cleaning your cycle is extremely important because of water and salt accumulation, which can lead to rust and poor performance. Proper clothing, equipment, and maintenance become paramount. Cycling in this area allows me the opportunity to witness people riding horses, jogging, and taking part in other activities that involve the simple art of walking. Dog walking is extremely popular in this area and probably in many parts of the world. I have met and talked with some fascinating and amazing people simply out walking their dog. I must say that I am impressed by the dedication and the obvious bond that has developed.
The winter months afford us the time to unwind, reflect, and take a walk. To listen to that little voice inside our head that asks, " What's the rush? It suddenly dawns on us that Rome wasn´t built in a day.
